Best way to deal with this dubious life is to adapt an infinite mindset – growth mindset.
Most of the ‘problems’ or rather I would call ‘unpleasant situations’ keep happening again and again because there is less acceptance. Once you accept that this is one of those situations which I don’t want, you will know how to come out of it, and it’s through your thinking process first. Your mind thus your mindset is the only way you can change the unwanted situation.
Let’s go back to when pandemic started, COVID-19. It changed the whole world, it turned everything upside down and we human race panicked. People who accepted this unpleasant situation, started to adapt and did awesome in last two years. People who complained again and again are still struggling, not because they are any less worthy or less productive but these people haven’t yet accepted the change. Fact being whether we accept or not we all know that ‘change is the only constant’. So as I mentioned before the best way to deal with this constantly changing unpredictable life is have an infinite mindset.
What is infinite mindset? – Infinite means unknown, to be specific. Infinite mindset is similar to growth mindset where you focus on constantly improving who you are and always aim for progression in whatever you are doing. Simon Sinek the author of the book ‘The Infinite Game’ says that life is not about winning the game instead it’s about the process, it’s about how you live every day. When anyone we know dies we don’t say he/she is a winner because he played this game called life. Simon Sinek also suggests strongly that we all need to adapt to an infinite mindset lifestyle.
How to have this infinite mindset?
Step 1: Stay in the present – Everything you are doing right now make it worthy for now. If you want to be happy, be happy right now. If you have a long term goal, take that first step towards it now. Stay in NOW.
Step 2: Learn to accept and adapt. Not all situations are in your control. So whatever happens first accept it, if you have control over it, work on the situations if you wish to change or make it better. If you can’t control it just accept it and you will find all ways to adapt to this change.
Step 3: Never criticize the situation or change – instead just tell yourself that this is one of the unpleasant situations which don’t have control but I can control how I respond to it.
Step 5: Don’t ever run away from unpleasant situations. Escapism is seed of increasing your stress level of life. Whatever is there, face it, acknowledge it.
Conclusion: Always pay attention to what you think. You are truly what you think. Your thoughts define you. Adapt this infinite mindset and make the most of this beautiful life. Don’t forget you are still alive and believe it or not you are born to contribute to this world.
