How many of us have grumbled about technology being a distraction? How many of us have complained about technology? Some grumble about technology like it is short talk while standing outside a tea shop. But I’ll tell you this: technology is not a problem. It’s time to debunk the notion that technology is something to curse. If you find yourself pointing fingers at the screen, it’s time to face it: you might just be struggling to handle the change!
Let’s get one thing straight – the digital revolution is happening, whether you like it or not. It’s like the traffic. It happens without asking for our permission. This digital revolution transforms the way we live, work, and connect with each other. So why not embrace it with open arms and ride the digital wave?
ARE YOU BLAMING TECHNOLOGY?
If you are blaming the screen, maybe you should know this – NOTHING CAN STOP YOU FROM BEING SUCCESSFUL, EXCEPT FOR YOURSELF.
Can’t get your work done because you keep getting distracted by YouTube or Instagram? Don’t blame technology! It’s your procrastination that is keeping you from completing your tasks. Don’t blame technology as a distraction. It will never help you in any way. The more you use technology as an excuse for your incomplete tasks, the harder it will get for you.
Here’s the hard truth: blaming technology for our own lack of success or productivity is a cop-out. We need to learn to navigate the digital realm with purpose and discipline.
Remember, the key to success lies within ourselves. Being self-aware, setting clear goals, and cultivating habits that support our aspirations is important.
TECHNOLOGY’S DUAL NATURE – PROS AND CONS
Let’s take a quick look at both sides of the coin when it comes to technology. On the positive side, technology has paved the way for incredible advancements and possibilities. People from every corner of the globe have been brought together, thanks to technology, allowing them to connect and share experiences like never before. We can access a wealth of information at our fingertips, learn new skills online, and even launch our own businesses with minimal resources. This digital world has given birth to innovation, convenience, and boundless opportunities. Life has progressed, thanks to the development of technology. Think about the pandemic. Education continued, work continued, and everything was thanks to technology. Life progressed and kept on moving forward.
On the flip side, overconsumption is a serious issue. The overconsumption of technology can lead to information overload, distractions, and a loss of human connection. Social media can become a breeding ground for comparison and self-doubt. Some people, in order to fulfil their life, they start connecting with online people. We tend to get carried away by the digital world. Remember! THE DIGITAL WORLD IS NOT BETTER THAN THE REAL WORLD! You do not need to fulfil your lives with the internet or any other technology. The constant buzz of these notifications can tug our attention span. It’s crucial to strike a balance and ensure that we use technology as a tool rather than allowing it to become our master.
ACCEPT AND ADAPT
I urge you to read the cons pointers again. Look at them. What do you see? Technology isn’t at fault, we are. What causes overconsumption of technology? What causes us to mindlessly scroll through Instagram for hours? Why do we stare at the screen playing YouTube shorts continuously? Is it the technology? Or is it just us?
Most of the cons are that we can not strike a balance. We do not seem to be able to handle our responsibilities and technology very well. And then, we get distracted. We forget our tasks, responsibilities, and everything other than the Instagram reel playing on our phones. This is where the statement enters, “OH! Because of the phone, I couldn’t complete my task! I hate technology!” or, “Technology is no help at all. I end up spending hours on social media and forget my tasks. It’s all because of technology.”
Drop the curses! It is not the technology; it is you struggling to adapt. Ride the wave of change! Embrace technology, but keep it in check. Use it to your advantage, but don’t let it overpower you. You can not keep cursing at technological advancements, because, in the end, they will continue. Does the rain stop when you complain about it? I don’t think so. Rather than cursing and grumbling about the screen, explore the digital world. And make your mark. Take control and unleash your full potential by making the best of this technology service offered to you.
APPS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL
Certain apps, websites, etc., are amazing! Pure amazing! They can help you with everything and anything, whenever you want, wherever you want. The important thing is to know what to search for, and to watch the right thing. You can not gain success by looking at the story of someone that makes you feel insecure and inferior.

Here are the apps:
- ChatGPT – It gives a response to any question. It helps me in everything from planning my day to what to eat for dinner.
- Pinterest – It helps me find ideas and inspirations for absolutely anything and everything. You can make boards, pin ideas and pictures, and save your fav ideas.
- HealthifyMe – It allows you to track your calories, those burned, along with how much water you drank. Even more, it provides you with personalized meal and workout plans according to your lifestyle.
- Instagram – It allows me to follow anyone I want. I usually follow those who inspire and motivate me. For me, this app gives me encouragement and motivation.
- Notion – It is an organization app that helps you create pages and arrange everything you need. The best part is that it can be customized for you by you.
- YouTube – It gives me videos of every kind. I can find videos that explain concepts quickly, or even in detail. I can look for motivational videos or those that teach me a healthy recipe.
While these are only a few, they have been extremely helpful to me in my daily life. The key is to search for the right thing, the thing that helps you, motivates you, and encourages you to reach your best potential.
Life is too short to be cursing the pixels on your screen. Embrace the digital revolution, adapt to the changes, and let it fuel your growth. Conquer the digital world. Accept and adapt.
I just ask you one question. What do you think are the four benefits of the digital world and what would you avoid so that you don’t get distracted and waste valuable time?
